WWE announced that C.M. Punk had his left knee scoped by Dr. James Andrews, who successfully trimmed a cartilage tear in Punk's knee. "C.M. Punk underwent knee surgery today to remove a piece of torn meniscus that had locked up his knee," WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com. "The surgery went smoothly and Punk is expected to make a full recovery.
WWE Champion C.M. Punk will not work the main event of the TLC pay-per-view after undergoing knee surgery on Tuesday. It was announced at the Smackdown taping that Ryback will team with Daniel Bryan and Kane to face The Shield in a six-man tag match, according to Wrestlinginc.com Ryback had been scheduled to challenge Punk for the WWE Championship in a TLC match.
